This was our second major engagement with Ctrl Hub. Having previously completed an engagement a few years ago, they bought us back in to assist through a difficult period.
Following 12 months of failed deployments and not delivering on system updates, they had made the tough decision to let the current CTO and Lead Architecht go, and needed quick turn around on some long overdue updates to regain failing confidence from some of their biggest clients.
As it was a system we were already familiar with, we hit the ground running and in about 4 weeks delivered a major platform update for one of the biggest clients. This included an OS update from Ubuntu 18.04 (which was out of support) to Debian 12, a PHP upgrade from 7.4 (also end-of-life) to version 8.2 and a core database upgrade from MySQL 5.7 to 8.0.
These update also included a redeployment of the entire application stack to new AWS infrastructure, restoring Ansible and Terraform based automation which had been neglected in the process.
Over the next few months we completed multiple successful deployments of small but long overdue feature requests and application updates. Restoring much of the large clients faith in the Ctrl Hub platform, and once again cementing their relationship.
During this time we also took up an advisory role with the Managing Director, assisting in the selection process for a replacement CTO.
